What is Donepedin used for?
Donepedin is used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderately severe dementia of the Alzheimer’s type.
How much and how often should Donepedin be taken?
For adults and the elderly, Donepedin is usually initiated at 5 mg/day (once a day dosing) preferably in the evening just prior to retiring. Dose can be increased to a maximum of 10 mg/day (once a day dosing) after achieving steady state of taking 5 mg/day for 4 to 6 weeks.
For low body weight elderly women (85 years of age or older), maximum daily dose should not exceed 5 mg.
What are the possible side effects of Donepedin?
The most common side effects of Donepedin include diarrhea, anorexia, vomiting, nausea, and ecchymosis.
What is the available pack size of Donepedin?
Donepedin is donepezil HCl in 5 mg film-coated tablet available in blister pack of 10’s in box of 30’s and 10 mg film-coated tablet available in blister pack of 10’s in box of 30’s.
