Fluoxetine Capsule (PRODIN®)
What is Prodin used for?
Prodin is an antidepressant drug used for treatment of depression and associated anxiety, bulimia nervosa, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder. (PMDD).
How much and how often should Prodin be taken?
For depression, Prodin is taken at 20 mg once daily. For bulimia nervosa, treatment is at 60 mg daily.
For OCD, Prodin is given at a dose of 20 mg up to 60 mg daily. For PMDD, the usual dose is 20 mg orally once daily.
What are the possible side effects of Prodin?
Side effects of Prodin include dry mouth and gastrointestinal disturbances like nausea, vomiting, indigestion, constipation and diarrhea. Prodin may also cause some neurological side effects such as anxiety, restlessness, nervousness, insomnia, drowsiness, fatigue, headache, tremor, dizziness, convulsions, hallucinations and extrapyramidal effects.

Prodin is fluoxetine 20 mg capsule available in blister pack of 10’s in a box of 30’s.
