What is Inserdin used for?
Metronidazole + Miconazole Nitrate (Inserdin) is used in the treatment of candidal vulvovaginitis due to Candida albicans, in bacterial vaginosis due to anaerobic bacteria and Gardnerella vaginalis, in trichomonal vaginitis due to Trichomonas vaginalis, and in mixed vaginal infections.
How much and how often should Inserdin be taken?
Metronidazole + Miconazole Nitrate (Inserdin) is usually administered 1 daily in the evening for 7-14 days. The medication should be taken daily without interruption, unless advised otherwise by the doctor.
What is the available pack size of Inserdin?
Inserdin is Metronidazole + Miconazole Nitrate 750 mg/200 mg Vaginal suppository in a blister strip of 7’s (Box of 7’s).
What are the possible side effects of Inserdin?
Inserdin can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain or spasms, and loss of appetite, headaches, movement abnormalities, vertigo, psycho-emotional disorders, and cramps. Patients may also experience a metallic taste, dryness of mouth, and dark-brown coloration of urine due to the presence of hydrosoluble pigment resulting from metronidazole metabolism.
