What is Risdin® ODT used for?
Risperidone (Risdin® ODT) is used for the treatment of schizophrenia and manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder. Risdin® ODT is also used for the short-term treatment of persistent aggression in patients with Alzheimer’s dementia and short-term symptomatic treatment of persistent aggression in children with conduct disorder.
How much and how often should Risdin® ODT be taken?
Risperidone (Risdin® ODT) may be given once or twice daily. For the elderly, a starting dose of 0.5 mg twice daily is recommended. For children and adolescents from 5 to 18 years of age, a starting dose of 0.5 mg once daily is recommended for body weight >/= 50 kg.
What is the available pack size of Risdin® ODT?
Risdin® ODT is Risperidone 1 mg Orally Disintegrating Tablet in a blister pack of 10’s in a box of 100’s.
What are the possible side effects of Risdin® ODT?
Risdin® ODT may cause Parkinsonism, headache, dizziness, somnolence, lethargy, insomnia, palpitations, blurred vision, dyspnea, cough, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, rash, increased appetite and joint pains among others.
