Helping Your Epileptic Child Learn and Succeed in School (May Liwanag Sa Kabila Ng Epilepsy)

Children with epilepsy are more likely to have concentration issues, learning impairments, and other cognitive deficits dahil sa kanilang kondisyon.

Maaaring mahirap tukuyin ang kombulsyon dahil ang mga pag-atake nito ay maaaring mag-iba-iba depende sa uri, which can be classified into two major groups: focal seizures or generalized seizures.

  • Focal Seizures also known as partial seizures, na nangyayari kapag ang electrical activity ay nananatili lamang sa isang side ng brain.
  • Generalized Seizures affect both sides of the brain due to seizure activity throughout the brain.

To help your child with epilepsy to learn and succeed in school, you could do the following:

Prepare your epileptic kids for school

  • Discuss with the young person how to explain their condition with their peers.
  • Encourage them to engage in sports, start a hobby, and other interests.
  • Bigyan ng assurance ang mga bata. Praise your child’s success and bathe them with real positivity na kahit may pinagdadaanan hindi hadlang ang kondisyon para matuto at sumaya.

Get help from teachers/school nurses/school community

  • Set up a meeting with the principal, schoolteacher or your child’s adviser and the school nurse. Kausapin sila and seek their help and cascade about your child’s condition.
  • Seek help from groups/foundations that conduct training about epilepsy and its treatment, seizure first aid, and lessen the stigma associated with epilepsy. Para iwas bullying.
  • Raise awareness about the epileptic symptoms at kung paano ito imanage.
  • Make a Seizure Action Plan.

  • biglang natutumba
  • nawawalan ng malay

To manage the above-mentioned symptoms, always ensure that your child has their trusted prescribed medicine with them, like MedChoice’s Valproic Acid (DEPAMAX® SYRUP) 250 mg/5ml and Levetiracetam (Kepdin®) 100 mg / ml.

Ang Depamax syrup ay isang antiepileptic drug na gamit sa monotherapy at adjunctive therapy in the treatment of patients with complex partial seizures that occur in isolation or in association with other types of seizures. It is also indicated for use as sole and adjunctive therapy for simple and complex absence seizures.

Ang Kepdin Oral Solution kagaya ng Depamax syrup ay isa ring mabisang gamot upang maibsan ang partial seizures with or without secondary generalizations, myoclonic seizures, and primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures. Kepdin is given at a dose range of 20 mg/kg body weight daily up to 60 mg/kg body weight daily given in 2 divided doses.
